
Wildcatters Name New Head Coach

LAFAYETTE, LA - The Lafayette Wildcatters are proud to introduce their new head coach Rich Ingold. Ingold has coached in the Arena Football League and in the arenafootball2 league.
"We are excited to have Rich [Ingold] with the Wildcatters," answered Dave Berryman, President of Lafayette Sports Management (LSM is overseeing the operations of the Wildcatters and IceGators). "I have spent time with him in Wilkes-Barre and he was a great coach winning four division titles and appearing in two ArenaCup Championship games. He is an intense person who is going to get the best out of all his players. We are looking forward to a high scoring product on the field."
During Ingold's time in the af2, he was the head coach of the Quad City Steamwheelers and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers and accumulated a 92-38 record. In addition to all of the wins, he as also two-time af2 coach of the year and was inducted into the league's inaugural Hall of Fame class.
Ingold coached the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers from 2006-09. While with the Pioneers he led the team to 50-14 record in his four seasons. Three of the seasons, he finished the regular season with the best record in the conference and appeared in two ArenaCup (af2 championship game) appearances. He also holds the record for wins in af2.
In addition to his time in the af2, he also coached in the Arena Football League. He spent time as the Offensive Coordinator of the Pittsburgh Gladiators and the Dallas Desperados and the Head Coach of the Dallas Vigilantes.
Ingold is coach that has had playing experience. He was a quarterback at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Division II institution. He also spent two years playing in the Arena Football League in 1987 with the Washington Commandos and in 1988 with the Detroit Drive.
The Wildcatters return to the Dome in March for the 2011 season.
