Wichita Falls Wildcats News Release

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Although the 2014-15 campaign is still in full swing, preparations for the 2015-16 season have already began, as the Wichita Falls Wildcats announced the dates of their 2015 Pre-Draft and Open Camps on Tuesday.

This year, the Wildcats will host their pre-draft camp from May 29 to May 31 at Seven Bridges Ice Arena in Woodridge, Ill., while the second tryout camp will take place at the Jersey Shore Arena in Wall Township, N.J., from June 12 to June 14. The team's final try-out camp, which is by invitation only, will be held in Wichita Falls in July with exact dates to be announced at a later time.

"These types of camps have become a vital part of our recruiting efforts," said Chris Ceransky, assistant coach of the Wildcats. "Last year, we had two of our best-ever camps in Chicago and New Jersey. We are excited to build on that this summer with two highly competitive camps featuring a lot of talented players."

Registration for the 2015 Pre-Draft and Open Camps will open in the near future. In the meantime, prospective players who would like more information may contact Coach Ceransky at cceransky@wfwildcatshockey.com.

The Wildcats tryout camps represent an opportunity for young players to showcase their abilities in front of the Wildcats coaching staff, as well as college scouts representing Division I and Division III programs. Each player is guaranteed the opportunity to play three games during the camp, with the possibility of playing in an All-Star game at the end of the session. Goalies will also take part in a goaltender-specific evaluation session.

The 2015-16 season marks the Wildcats' 12th as a member of the North American Hockey League, with the organization establishing a proven track-record of player advancement in that time. Since 2004, 69 players have moved on to play Division I-hockey following their time in Wichita Falls, including a league-high nine players on the 2014-15 roster with Division I-commitments, while three former Wildcats were selected in the National Hockey League draft in that same span.

The Wildcats are next in action on Feb. 13 when they open a two-game series against the Odessa Jackalopes. Puck drop is slated for 7:05 p.m. at the Kay Yeager Coliseum, with kids 12 and under receiving a free Wildcats t-shirt, courtesy of Digital Deviance of Wichita Falls. Fans that cannot make it to the game may follow all the action on FASTHockey.com, with an audio-only broadcast available via YouTube.
