Wichita Wings News Release

WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita Wings of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) will hit the road to take on the Milwaukee Wave for the team's third matchup of the 2011-2012 season. Wichita will take on the Milwaukee Wave on Friday, December 16th in the Wings ninth game of the season. Kick-off is scheduled at 7:35pm (CT) at the US Cellular Arena, located in downtown Milwaukee.

Wichita returns to action after a two week break from play. The Wings are coming off two huge wins over the Syracuse Silver Knights and Norfolk SharX on December 2nd and December 3rd, respectively. Wichita won both games by a combined 37-8 score line. To stay in good standing in the Central Division, Wichita must gain a road victory against the Wave this weekend.

Milwaukee is the only undefeated team left in the MISL at a 6-0 record. The two previous matchups between the Wings and Wave saw Milwaukee pull out two victories by a combined 5 points. The Wings look to end Milwaukee's undefeated season and gain some ground in the Central Division where they currently sit in third place with a 3-5 record, 4 games off the lead and 3 games behind the second place Comets.

Milwaukee has created a balanced attack in their first six games of the season. Milwaukee is averaging 18 points a game while only conceding 10.5 points a game. 17 players have contributed in points whether it be goals or assists. Milwaukee has 5 players who have 15 points or more on the season and are led by Marcio Leite who has 20 total points.

Jamar Beasley is leading the Wichita attack with 14 goals and 6 assists totaling 35 points on the season. Beasley is being trailed by teammate Chile Farias with 5 goals and a league leading 12 assists totaling 23 points. The Wings have not lacked in attack this season, but must stay accountable on defense to keep the Wave's well rounded attack at bay.

Following the December 16th game, The Wings will take on the Missouri Comets on December 28th in Missouri before returning home to Hartman Arena on December 30th.
