November 30, 2011 - Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL)
Wichita Wings News Release

WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita Wings of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) will play host to two Eastern Divisional opponents in a double-header weekend. The Wings will take on the Syracuse Silver Knights on Friday, December 2nd and the Norfolk SharX on Saturday, December 3rd. This will be the Wings fourth and fifth home games of the season, respectively. Kick-off is scheduled at 7:35pm (CT) for both games at Hartman Arena.

Wichita will play host to the Syracuse Silver Knights on Friday, December 2nd for game one of the weekend double-header. This will be the first matchup between the two teams. Syracuse got off to a hot start this season, running 3-0 against Eastern Division opponents; highlighted by beating the Baltimore Blast, in Baltimore. Syracuse has cooled as of late, losing their last three games. Syracuse currently stands second in the Eastern Division with a 3-3 record.

On Saturday, Wichita will play host to the Norfolk SharX; this being their second matchup of the season. Norfolk will look to gain revenge after their loss to Wichita just one week ago. Norfolk has yet to place a tally in the win column, but looks to change that on December 1st in a road game against Rochester. If unsuccessful, their next chance will be on the road against Wichita on December 3rd.

Wichita returns home after last weekend's double-header against the Norfolk SharX and Milwaukee Wave. Wichita established their first win of the season against Norfolk last weekend. The Wings lead most of that game, even with a strong push by Norfolk in the fourth quarter to make the game interesting; the final score was Wichita 16 Norfolk 11.

Following the Norfolk game, Wichita hit the road to take on the Wave for their second game in Milwaukee this season. Wichita got off to a lethargic start, down 11-0 going into the fourth quarter. Wichita fought back, playing most of the fourth quarter with a sixth man attacker, rallying a 10 point run. A few last ditch efforts saw Wichita fall in dramatic fashion. The final score was Milwaukee 13 Wichita 10.

Key match-ups: Silver Knights Forward Slavisa Ubiparapovic vs. Wings Midfielder Jamar Beasley Both Ubiparapovic and Beasley have started this season off red-hot. Ubiparapovic has already scored 11 goals and 3 assists accumulating 26 points. Ubiparapovic is currently leading the MISL in points. Hot on his tail is Beasley who has 9 goals and 4 assists accumulating 22 points.

Keep an eye on: Wings Forward Carlos "Chile" Farias The Wings forward started off the season too slow for his liking, but over the last two games, Chile has scored 2 goals and assisted 3 times. Chile is keen to keep consistency in his play for the rest of the season to help the Wings establish a winning form.
