Wichita Wings News Release

WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita Wings of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) have announced the first annual Black & Orange Scrimmage will take place on October 26th at 6:30 pm at Hartman Arena, with doors opening to the public at 5:30. Wichita Wings season ticket holders will be allowed free entrance to the game and non-season ticket holders will receive free entrance to the game with the donation of a non-perishable canned food item. The Kansas Food Bank will be on hand that evening accepting all donations.

John Blazek, general manager, is extremely excited about this opportunity for the fans and the community. "Not only is this a great opportunity for the Wichita community to see the Wings in action before the season starts, but also a great way for the Wings and its supporters to give back to the community," said Blazek. "We want to make an impact in this community and I believe this is a great way to do so."

Following the scrimmage, fans will have the opportunity for a "Meet and Greet" with the players and coaches; including new contracted players, as well as Wichita's homegrown talents Larry Inlow, Casey Barton, Brian Cushing, Chris Lemons, and Jamie Harding. All five local players have contributed to the soccer community in Wichita, whether through coaching teams, training players, or running youth camps.

The scrimmage will provide an inside look at all the players in live-action as they prepare for their season home-opener on November 3rd. This will be a great opportunity for Wichita and the surrounding community to witness first-hand the excitement and potential greatness the Wichita Wings can achieve this season.

Head Coach LeBaron Hollimon and the Wings coaching staff have been hot on the scouting trail, bringing in several well-known names within the MISL community. "The organization looks to compete for a MISL title in its first season, and the Black & Orange Scrimmage will provide a great perspective of where our team currently stands."
