Wichita Force Sign Three Receivers from Open Tryouts

WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita Force announced today that the team has signed three receivers from open tryouts hosted on Sunday, Oct. 11 at the Boys and Girls Club. The four receivers include Jabril Soloman, Douglas White and Darrell Freeman. Each newcomer will make his professional debut with the Force during the 2016 season.

Soloman, a native of Hemingway, S.C., spent one season with East Carolina University and Hutchinson Community College respectively. During his lone season with the Pirates, Soloman recorded 17 receptions for 410 yards and one touchdown. Soloman led the team with 24.1 yards per reception in his freshman season.

Following his lone season at East Carolina University, Soloman transferred to Hutchinson Community College where he was an offensive standout for the Dragons. In his one season at Hutchinson, Soloman recorded 35 receptions for 651 yards and seven touchdowns. He averaged 54.3 receiving yards per game with 18.6 yards per catch.

"I am very excited to get back to playing football," Soloman commented on joining the Force. "I was out for two years and I was just waiting for my chance to play again."

Freeman, a native of Ark City, Kan., split his college career at Butler Community College and Arkansas Tech University spending two seasons with each team. Over the course of his collegiate career, Freeman recorded 57 receptions for 866 yards and six touchdowns.

"I want to first thank Coach Martinez for giving me an opportunity to play the game of football again," Freeman said. "I've heard great things about the Force family and I'm excited for what's to come for the upcoming season and to be final apart of the team."

A Wichita, Kan. native, White played for two seasons at Highland Community College prior to transferring to Ottawa University where he finished his collegiate career.

At Highland, White recorded 26 receptions for 239 receiving yards and one touchdown. He averaged 9.2 yards per reception and 26.6 receiving yards per game.

"I'm very thankful for this opportunity to play and to do it for my hometown team," White said.
