Whitecaps re-sign trio

VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC Director of Soccer Operations, Bob Lenarduzzi, today announced the re-signing of forward Jason Jordan, defensive midfielder David Morris and defender Chris Franks.

Jason Jordan, 26, enters his eighth season with the Caps. Originally signed as a free agent in 1997, Jason has led the team in scoring the last four seasons. Last year, the Richmond, BC native recorded eight goals and eight assists in 22 games, finishing 12th place in the A- League (now USL First Division) regular season scoring. Jordan is currently third on Vancouver's all-time scoring list with 57 goals and 35 assists in 178 games. The 5'10", 170-pound striker also led Vancouver in scoring in 1998, and is a former Canadian U-23 and U-20 international member.

David Morris, 27, scored two goals and assisted on one in 31 games with the Whitecaps last year. The 6'2", 160- pound defensive midfielder is returning for his sixth season with the club having accumulated 14 goals and 12 assists in 116 games. Morris, a native of Burnaby, BC, was a former member of the Abbotsford Rangers of the USL Premier Development League.

Chris Franks, 30, enters his 12th year with the Whitecaps. The veteran defender has played 177 games in a Vancouver uniform recording 11 goals, 10 assists and 14,002 minutes. Born in Montreal, Quebec and raised in Richmond, BC, Franks is a former member of Canada's U- 23 and U-20 teams and has one cap with the Canadian National Team. The 5'11", 170-pound defender is the older brother of Whitecaps goalkeeper, Mike Franks.
