Whitecaps on the road

July 30, 2009 - USL First Division (USL-1)
Vancouver Whitecaps News Release

On the road again...

The Whitecaps are on a three match road trip that begins tomorrow, Friday, July 31st at 5 p.m. in Rochester. The 'Caps are looking to capitalize on Saturday's 4-2 win over Puerto Rico Islanders and improve their overall performance on the road having registered only one win in their eight away matches this season. Friday's match is the first of two back-to-back matches as the team heads to Cleveland to face the City Stars on Saturday at 4 p.m. The Vancouver side will be without Lyle Martin who is out with a back problem, and Justin Moose who's foot injury persists. Catch both matches on USLLive.com, and Friday's match will be shown on FOX. Click here for more on the match preview.

Pub Night

Join us Thursday, August 6th at 7 p.m. at The Great Bear Pub (map) for the deciding match against Portland for the Cascadia Cup. The Whitecaps and the Timbers are tied in points so the determining factor will be the amount of away goals each team has scored. A loss or a 0-0 draw results in Portland taking home the cup, while a win or any score draw will result in the cup going to the Whitecaps. The Great Bear Pub will be offering drink specials and gourmet burgers for only $5.95, and don't forget your 'Caps Card!

New addition to the squad

Vancouver Whitecaps FC announce the re-signing of defender/midfielder Chris Pozniak. He returns to the Whitecaps from Dundee FC of the Scottish First Division and will join the team in Rochester tomorrow and will play for the remainder of the season. Read more...
