Whitecaps gear up for double header

This Sunday, the Whitecaps play the first of only two doubleheaders this season. The Whitecaps Women will kick things off at 4:00pm v. Denver's Mile High Mustangs, and the Men will wrap things up at 7:00pm v. the Atlanta Silverbacks.
The Mustangs were one of the league's most improved teams last year and are making every effort to do the same this season. Among their off-season signings are midfielder Kristin Warren, who played for WUSA's Atlanta Beat, and striker Jessica Heller who starred for Arizona in 2004.
On the men's side, Swangard hasn't seen an Atlanta side since the late 90's by way of the Ruckus. Now they're the Silverbacks, named in honour of a famed Atlanta Zoo silverback gorilla called Willie B. The dangerman for Atlanta is Jamaican international striker Fabian Dawkins, who is second in scoring in the USL First Division with five goals. Atlanta is currently in fourth place with 10 points in six games.
