Whitecaps FC USSF D-2 Semifinal Tickets Available Tuesday

VANCOUVER, BC - Fifth-seeded Vancouver Whitecaps FC (1W-1L-0D) continue their 2010 USSF D-2 Pro League playoff campaign this week against eighth-seeded Puerto Rico Islanders (1W-1L-0D) in a two-match, aggregate score semifinal series.
As the higher seeded team, Whitecaps FC have selected to play at home in the second leg on Sunday, October 17, at 4 p.m. PT. Tickets for Sunday=27s match at Swangard Stadium start at $21.50 and will be available for purchase by 12 p.m. PT on Tuesday, October 12, at all Ticketmaster Ticket Centres, by phone at 604.280.4400, and online at whitecapsfc.com. Fans unable to attend Sunday=26rsquo;s match can catch the game live on Shaw TV, Shaw Direct (satellite channel 299), and online at whitecapsfc.com/live.
The first leg of this semifinal series will take place this Thursday, October 14, at the Juan Ram=26oacute;n Loubriel Stadium in Bayam=26oacute;n, Puerto Rico. Thursday=26rsquo;s match will kickoff at 5 p.m. PT and can be seen live online at whitecapsfc.com/live.
The playoff series will be the third and fourth meetings of 2010 between both clubs, and involves the 2008 United Soccer Leagues First Division (USL-1) finalists. In their two regular season matches this season, Whitecaps FC and the Islanders played to a 1-1 draw in Puerto Rico on June 16th and a 0-0 draw at Swangard on September 5.
In 2008, Vancouver and Puerto Rico played in a memorable USL-1 Championship Final that saw Whitecaps FC defeat the Islanders 2-1 in front of a sold-out Swangard crowd of 5,822 on Thanksgiving Sunday, October 12.
In the other USSF D-2 semifinal series, NASL Conference winners Carolina RailHawks (second seed) will take on the sixth-seeded Montreal Impact. The first leg will take place at Montreal=27s Stade Saputo on Thursday, October 14, with the second leg set for WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina, on Sunday, October 17.
The winners of the two semifinal series will advance to the USSF D-2 championship final series, which will be played over two weekends. The first leg of the final is set for the weekend of October 23 =26amp; 24, while the second leg will take place during the weekend of October 30
