
Weekly Wrap-Up for UIF Week 1

Omaha, NE - The inaugural season of United Indoor Football has kicked into full swing with five high-scoring games this weekend. In the North Division, the Sioux City Bandits defeated the Black Hills Red Dogs 57-29 at the Tyson Events Center/Gateway Arena. The Bandits used a strong defense and a balanced offense to coast to the win. Also in North Division action, the Omaha Beef turned back the Sioux Falls Storm 55-31 in front of over 6,200 fans in the Omaha Civic Auditorium. The Beef took advantage of three Storm turnovers, as wide receiver Mike Nizzi and quarterback John McMenamin connected on four passes, all for touchdowns, totaling 101 yards. In a South Division contest in Evansville, Indiana, Bluecats quarterback Ramon Robinson connected with wide receiver Gerald Clark on an 11-yard, last second touchdown pass to stun the Tennessee Valley Raptors 53-51. Also in the South Division, the Lexington Horseman overpowered the Tupelo Fireants 49-37 in the BancorpSouth Center in Tupelo. In a Sunday matinee contest, over 7,000 fans saw the Fort Wayne Freedom jump out to a 16-0 lead and hold on to defeat the Ohio Valley Greyhounds 29-25 in the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
