There Will Be Changes In The NWHL Standings This Weekend. The Question Is Where?

3:30 PM - New York Riveters (3-8-2) at Buffalo Beauts (3-8-2)

Promotional Info: Disney Game - With Disney On Ice in town, fans are encouraged to dress up like their favorite Disney character.

Game Notes: Buffalo won its second straight meeting at New York on January 17th, staging a three-goal third period comeback before emerging victorious in the shootout. Kourtney Kunichika scored two goals, while Brianne McLaughlin made 18 saves in relief. She was named the NWHL's Player of the Week as a result.

Last weekend, Beauts captain Emily Pfalzer led her team to a 9-1 victory in the first ever NWHL All-Star Game on Sunday afternoon in front of 1,200+ fans at HARBORCENTER. Teammate Kelley Steadman was named the game's Most Valuable Player.

Promotional Info: Military Appreciation Day. The Whale will wear camo jerseys that will be auctioned off to benefit Defending The Blue Line. Those with a military I.D., VA card or DD-214 can purchase tickets for $10 at the door. Purple Heart recipients are admitted free of charge

Game Notes: Boston handed Connecticut their only two losses of the season on December 27th and January 17th. In that most recent meeting, the Pride received goals from Hilary Knight, Jordan Smelker, Gigi Marvin and Amanda Pelkey en route to a 4-1 win. Knight leads all NWHL scorers in points (22) and goals (11), while Whale forward Kaleigh Fratkin leads the league in assists (12). Boston netminder Brittany Ott currently tops all goaltenders with eight wins.

The Whale acquired goaltender Shenae Lundberg from New York for netminder Chelsea Laden on Wednesday, marking the first trade in league history.
