SWASHBUCKLERS 70, RUFF RIDERS 24
LAKE CHARLES, La. - Alvin Bartie threw five touchdown passes and the Louisiana Swashbuckler defense scored four touchdowns and a safety as the Swashbucklers (6-0) remained undefeated with their third rout of Katy (1-4) this season.
Marcus Wilredge caught seven passed for 104 yards and two touchdowns, while Charles McRae intercepted two passes for the Swashbucklers, who led 40-16 at halftime and 68-16 after three.
Jammal Lord score twice for Katy, which registered only 49 total yards.
BARRACUDAS 84, ROUGHNECKS 54
BELTON, Tex. - Former University of Texas quarterback James Brown threw six touchdowns and rushed for another in his CenTex debut as the Barracudas (3-3) scored 27 points in the final 4:32 to pull away from Odessa. (3-3)
Brown (18 of 31 for 211 yards) connected with Reggie Smith (5 receptions for 72 yards) for three scores and Olan Coleman (7-68) twice to help CenTex snap both its three-game losing skid and a three-game winning run for the Roughnecks.
Dennis Gile threw three touchdowns to Torrey Day (9-77) and two to Don Robinson (7-100), but was intercepted four times, with CenTex returning three for touchdowns.
HAMMERHEADS 55, GRIZZLIES 37
ROBSTOWN, Tex. - Dustin Almond threw three touchdowns and Fred Wallace rushed for two as Corpus Christi (5-1) defeated Fairbanks (1-6) for the second time this season.
Solomon Jones caught 12 passes for 123 yards and all three of Damion Ward's touchdown passes for Fairbanks, who saw a 21-14 deficit grow to 48-23 midway through the third quarter.
Schuyler Anderson rushed for one touchdown and scored another for the Hammerheads.
