Week 8 Players of the Week

July 25, 2016 - National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) News Release


Nashville, TN - For the second consecutive week and third time this season, Kelly Kretschman has been named Offensive Player of the Week. The USSSA Pride veteran outfielder hit for a .529 AVG with three home runs and a league-best nine RBI. Kretschman added a double and scored seven times while slugging 1.118 for the week.

Taylor Gadbois earned her first weekly award of her career as she was named Rookie of the Week. The Dallas Charge rookie turned in a .412 AVG this week to lead all rookies with more than 10 at bats. Gadbois stole three bases in four attempts and scored five runs for the Charge.

Monica Abbott was named Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time in 2016 as she led the Scrap Yard Dawgs to two wins this past week. Abbott finished the week 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 25 strikeouts. The veteran left-hander went the distance in both of her starts earning two complete game shutouts and pitched a total of 17.1 innings this week. She held opposing hitters to a .089 batting average.
