LAS VEGAS - The Arena Football League has announced that Philadelphia Soul wide receiver Ryan McDaniel and defensive back Dwayne Hollis have been named as the offensive and defensive players of the week for Week 4, respectively.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - McDaniel (6'3", 195, Samford) scored a touchdown in every quarter in the Philadelphia Soul's 69-34 victory over the Baltimore Brigade (1-2) in Week 4. He hauled in a team-game high eight receptions for 123 yards and tied a career-game high with five receiving touchdowns (Week 3, 2015 vs. Jacksonville). The fourth-year receiver out of Samford leads the Soul with 22 receptions, 256 receiving yards and tied for the team lead with six receiving touchdowns.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Hollis (5'10", 180, NC Wesleyan) led all Soul defenders with 6.5 tackles and intercepted Brigade quarterback Shane Carden twice in the Soul victory over Baltimore. Hollis is tied for the league lead with three interceptions and leads the AFL with 47 interception return yards. The second-year defensive back is one of three players in the league with a pick-six this season.
