Week 4 AFL Matchups: Philadelphia Heads to Baltimore for Early Season Rematch

Published on May 3, 2018 under Arena Football League (AFL) News Release

LAS VEGAS - The first game of the weekend is a rematch between the Philadelphia Soul (3-0) versus the Baltimore Brigade (2-1) on Friday, May 4 at 7 p.m. ET at Royal Farms Arena on AFL Live and Arena Football League Watch Page on Facebook. The teams first faced off in Week 2, as the two-time defending ArenaBowl champion Soul swatted down the possible winning touchdown as time expired to win 54-49 over the Brigade. The Brigade are 1-1 against the Soul at Royals Farm Arena. Philadelphia lost to Baltimore 49-42 back on July 8, 2017 which turned out to be the Soul's only loss of the 2017 season.

The second game of the weekend features the Albany Empire (0-2) hosting the Washington Valor (0-2) on Saturday, May 5 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Times Union Center on CBS Sports Network. The Empire are coming off a close 52-49 loss to the Baltimore Brigade last week, that saw quarterback Tommy Grady and wide receiver Joe Hills connect for four touchdowns. Washington lost last week to Philadelphia 67-51, in the Valor's first road game of the season. The Valor will be without three-time AFL MVP quarterback Nick Davila who had successful surgery to stabilize a neck injury suffered in last week's game and will miss the remainder of the 2018 season. Both teams are looking for their first win of the season.
