The 1-0 Tulsa Talons are set to host the expansion Dallas Vigilantes in the Vigilantes first game of the 2010 season and franchise history. Led by AFL legend coach Rich Ingold, the Vigilantes are stocked with talent and poised to make an impression in their first season. They were most recently ranked No. 3 in the coaches poll and No. 4 in the AFL Writers Association poll, despite not having played a game yet. QB Shane Stafford will be in charge of leading the offense. Stafford played for the Orlando Predators in 2008, where he threw 351-526-15 for 4,113 yards and 81 touchdowns. WR Derek Lee is one of his several trusty targets this season. Lee led the league in 2008 in receptions with 141 for 1,755 yards and 31 touchdowns. His 186 points scored over the course of the season was the most on the Columbus Detroyers in '08. WR Larry Brackins is another valuable player. Brackins made 107 catches for 1,412 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2008 with the Philadelphia Soul, who went on to win the ArenaBowl that season. The Vigilantes also have the consistent foot of K Mark Lewis to help rack up the points. Lewis had an 86% PAT success rate in 2008, and was named the AFL Kicker of the Year in 2007. Tulsa most recently defeated the Tampa Bay Storm in a surprising upset of AFL veteran versus AFL rookie. The Talons played in arenafootball2 last season. QB Justin Allgood went 26-of-36 for 274 yards and 8 touchdowns against the Storm, splitting his time between WRs Donovan Morgan and Carlese Franklin. Morgan made 9 catches for 120 yards and 4 touchdowns, while Franklin made 9 for 75 yards and two touchdowns. BJ Barre led the defensive attack, tallying 5 tackles and one interception for 18 yards. Tulsa jumped to No. 3 in the AFLWA poll after Week 1 play, and the excitement is growing for what is bound to be a highly entertaining game between these two division rivals.

ORLANDO PREDATORS (0-0) AT BOSSIER-SHREVEPORT BATTLEWINGS (1-0)

The AFL veteran Orlando Predators will be traveling to Bossier City, Louisiana to take on the Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings in Orlando's first game of the 2010 season. This is the season opening game for the Predators, while the BattleWings already have notched one win. Last week, Bossier defeated the Alabama Vipers 54-48. QB Raymond Philyaw led the charge, throwing 28-42-0 for 306 yards and seven touchdowns. PJ Berry rushed in the lone touchdown scored on the ground, in addition to making 10 catches for 85 yards and three touchdowns in the air. His 184 all purpose yards were the second most in Week 1 action. WR James Jordan also made a splash for the BattleWings, making 11 catches for 99 yards and one touchdown. WR Willis Marshall went 5-82 yards and two touchdown catches. FB/LB Henry Bryant made five tackles, one tackle for loss, and one sack in Bossier's defensive attack. DB Roland Cola led the team with 8 tackles. Bossier's 48 points allowed was the second lowest in all Week 1 action. Orlando looks to continue their strong showing across the league after taking a year hiatus in 2009. The Predators made it to the post season for the last 17 years, winning the ArenaBowl in 1998 and 2000. This season, they are under new leadership - both at the head coaching position as well as quarterback. Now led by quarterback-become-coach Pat O'Hara, the Predators look to come away with their first win this weekend of several in the 2010 season. Also new to the Predators, and the AFL, is QB Nick Hill. Last season, Hill threw 4,517 for 93 touchdowns with the arenafootball2 Rio Grande Valley Dorados. He has a steady pair of hands waiting for his passes down field, however, as TT Toliver continues on with the Predators. In 2008, Toliver led Orlando in all-purpose and receiving yards - 3,137 all purpose and 1,647 receiving. He also had the second most all-purpose yards in the league.
