SATURDAY'S GAMES
Orlando 38, GEORGIA 27 (Attendance: 8,052): Game MVP JAY GRUDEN passed for 300 yards and six touchdowns, including a pair to rookie OS TRAVIS McGRIFF in the fourth quarter, as the Predators (9-4) defeated Southern division rival Georgia (7-6) and clinched a playoff berth.
ARIZONA 62, Carolina 22 (Attendance: 12,611): The Rattlers' defense recorded three interceptions and held the Cobras (0-13) scoreless in the second half as Arizona (8-5) claimed a home victory against Carolina.
BUFFALO 36, Indiana 35 (Attendance: 7,691): The Destroyers' defense stopped a two-point conversion with no time left on the clock as Buffalo (5-8) knocked off the Indiana Firebirds (5-8). Buffalo QB BOB BEES threw for three touchdowns and 237 yards in his first AFL game since the 2000 season.
SUNDAY'S GAMES
San Jose 65, COLORADO 49 (Attendance: 17,417): San Jose QB MARK GRIEB threw for 258 yards and six touchdowns and the SaberCats (9-4) clinched their fourth consecutive playoff berth with the win over Colorado (2-11).
Tampa Bay 59, NEW YORK 45 (Attendance: 9,767): Tampa Bay OS FREDDIE SOLOMON tallied four touchdowns, while QB JOHN KALEO threw six touchdowns as the Storm (10-3) regained the top seed with the victory over the Dragons (5-7).
DALLAS 60, Los Angeles 57 (Attendance: 10,019): Dallas OL/DL TIM MARTIN blocked a REMY HAMILTON 53-yard field goal with two seconds remaining in the contest to secure the Desperados' (8-5) victory over the Avengers (9-4).
CHICAGO 54, Grand Rapids 46 (Attendance: 13,050): Chicago QB BILLY DICKEN completed 20-of-24 passes for 235 yards and four touchdowns, with just one interception in leading the Rush (6-7) to its third victory in the last four weeks by defeating the division-leading Rampage (8-5).
LAS VEGAS 58, Detroit 45 (Attendance: 10,157): Las Vegas QB JAY MCDONAGH completed 20-of-29 for 248 yards and six touchdowns as the Gladiators (7-6) held off a fourth-quarter charge by the Fury (6-7) to secure the Eastern Division win and remain atop of the division.
