Macon Knights (9-2) 48, Jacksonville Tomcats (4-6) 41

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A holding penalty nullified RASHARD CASEY's game-tying score and a key fumble added to Jacksonville's woes as Macon edged the Tomcats 48-41 Friday, clinching a playoff spot in the process.

With less than a minute to play, Casey scrambled 11 yards into the end zone for what appeared to be a potential game-tying TD. But on the next play after the holding penalty nullified the score, a Casey fumble contributed to a 16-yard loss. Three consecutive incomplete passes ended the threat and the Knights escaped with a narrow victory.

The Tomcats went into the halftime break with a 29-20 lead after Ironman and ADT Defensive Player of the Game ROBERT POLLARD picked off a JOHN RAYBORN pass and returned it 54 yards for a touchdown. Jacksonville led 35-26 with 12:10 left to play in the third on LAWRENCE PULLEN's 57-yard kickoff return for a score. However, Macon responded with 16 unanswered points, including TD runs of 37 and 11 yards by Ryaborn and JAQUEZ RUMPH, respectively, to take a 42-35 advantage.

Jacksonville pulled to within one on an eight-yard touchdown pass from Casey to JAMES ADDERLY, but game MVP MARTEZ WESLEY hauled in a 32-yard strike from Rayborn to seal the win.
