WBA officially adds Dallas, Knoxville, and Jackson

October 11, 2006 - World Basketball Association (WBA) News Release


Atlanta, GA - The WBA on Wednesday officially announced expansion to at least three cities for the coming 2007 season.

Suki Sports founder and CEO Gavin Raiteri has been given league approval to place franchises in the cities of Knoxville and Jackson, Tennessee for the 2007 season.

Also the WBA will be locating a franchise in Dallas, Texas for the upcoming season. The league has received inquires from three seperate ownership groups vying for control of the franchise beginning in the Spring of 2007.

WBA President Leroy McMath stated "Each of the ownership groups have demonstrated the ability to be outstanding franchises for the WBA, we're looking forward to a very exciting season."

The team names and logos for Knoxville, Jackson, and Dallas will be announced at an upcoming press conference to be held next month. The league also has plans to unveil up to four additional expansion teams this off season and are currently working with those ownership groups on the final details of their inclusion in the World Basketball Association.
