Published on April 29, 2009 under World Basketball Association (WBA) News Release

ATLANTA, GA, April 28, 2009 - The WBA Exposure League held open tryouts on April 17-18 at Agnes Scott College in Decatur GA. The event was a huge success attracting talented Pro-Ball hopefuls from origins near and far, all determined to show the WBA whose game was best.

Friday April 17th at 9am, over 100 Aspiring Pro-Ballers entered the Agnes Scott College Gymnasium for registration. With both excitement and anticipation in their eyes the players eagerly lined up and awaited their team assignments and jersey numbers. True to his mission of teaching and developing players, WBA founder and owner of the "Buford Majic" Leroy McMath along with Commissioner and former Manager/Coach of the Year, Lionel Garret gave an introduction of the WBA, its benefits and potential exposure.

Following the introduction GM and Head Coach of the "Decatur Court Kings" Reggie Fox along with Commissioner Garret, lead the players in warm-ups/drills. The warm-ups consisted of Body Stretching, Exhausting Suicides, By the Book Lay-ups and Astonishingly Accurate Free Throws. During warm-ups it was easy to see that these men came to play, a fact that became even more evident as the games began.

When the buzzer went off and the games began, each player tried their best to demonstrate their abilities on the court. Stamina, form, accuracy of shots and the ability to operate as part of a team were just a few of the skills looked for by Coach Fox. The teams moved up and down the court each trying their best to shine. Pro Ball handling skills, fade-away 3-pointers and two handed dunks were just a few of the feachered moves. One player whose skills completely overshadowed his frame was Alice Lloyd College's, Will Dillard. The 5'8, 155lb point guard showed an exceptional ability to lead his team and put points on the board However the Tryout Camp's "Most Outstanding Player" was 6'7, 202lb Bennie Lewis of Benedict College.

The following day brought new tryout games, with Coach Fox closely examining and taking notes. At the end of the event, the coaches and staff had gathered a significant amount of information and were ready to consider their draft picks, but not before one of the WBA hopefuls wowed the crowed at in the Agnes Scott gym by shattering the backboard following a powerful dunk!
