Warriors Clipped by the Knighthawks 13-11
December 23, 2023 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Vancouver Warriors News Release
ROCHESTER NY - The Rochester Knighthawks went on a six-goal run in the second quarter, pacing the home side to a 13-11 victory over the Vancouver Warriors in some pre-Christmas National Lacrosse League action in up-state New York.
Vancouver was up 5-2 late in the first quarter when a last-second buzzer beater began the run that put the Hawks ahead to stay.
On a positive note, in the defeat was the big night by Warriors #1 Draft pick, 3rd overall in the 2022 Draft, Owen Grant. The big defender, with his family in attendance, scored his first three goals of his career, including a short-handed goal, to keep the Warriors close.
Vancouver also had two goals from Adam Charalambides and New Westminster's Kevin Crowley, with singles from Keegan Bal, Kyle Killen, Ryan Martel and Reid Bowering.
Aaron Bold took the defeat in net, stopping 33 shots.
The Warriors fall to 1-2 on the season and will head home for some Christmas Cheer before heading back on the road. Next up, the Colorado Mammoth will host the Black and Gold at Bal Arena in Denver on Saturday December 30th. Opening faceoff will be at 7 PM.
