
Wallace Keeps Tarpons Unbeaten; Wins South Title

FT. MYERS, FL - Chris Wallace threw for three touchdowns and ran for another in a game-seizing second quarter as the Florida Tarpons outscored Lakeland, 34-6, in the quarter en route to the 60-29 victory Monday at Germain Arena. (Game Stats )
With the victory, the Tarpons (12-0) will host North champion Cincinnati (9-2) 7:30 p.m. Monday June 2 in Ultimate Bowl II, sponsored by Trophy Awards.
Florida ran eight plays in the second quarter, four going for touchdowns. The first three plays in the quarter were all touchdown passes by Wallace. All three of his scoring passes were to different receivers with Robert Jordan, Carlos Singleton and Chris McKinney on the receiving end.
Wallace finished 16-of-21 for 256 yards with six touchdowns and one interception. He added 16 rushing yards and a touchdown. Singleton recorded seven catches for 97 yards and two scores, while Donald Fusilier added two receiving tallies for the Tarpons.
Josh Smith had two receiving touchdowns to lead Lakeland (6-6), which lost to Florida five times this season.
The Florida Tarpons will be hosting the Ultimate Bowl 2 on Monday July 2nd at Germain Arena. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm and the doors open at 6:30pm.
