VSI Tampa Bay FC News Release

Tampa, Fla - VSI Tampa Bay FC held third place Richmond Kickers to a scoreless result Sunday evening in Plant City Stadium.

Back to back games on the road tested the Kickers this weekend in Florida. Only 24 hours after the Kickers defeated top seeded Orlando City 2-0 in the Citrus Bowl.

VSI developed many goal scoring opportunities in the first half building the ball up patiently through the midfield and were able to spring balls to the flanks feeding Alex Freitas and Richard Dixon. Sal Bundu delivered an exciting performance for VSI, holding the ball strong and missing the goal by inches on numerous attempts.

Although VSI supplied an abundance of shots, Kickers' keeper Andrew Dykstra delivered a perfect performance keeping VSI scorless. VSI keeper Alex Horwath, not to be outdone, secured a clean sheet for the match as well as he lead VSI defense in denying Richmond's attack.

The Kickers (8-0-6) remain undefeated and move on to face Dayton at Beavercreek High School while VSI Tampa Bay FC (7-6-3) break for the July 4th holiday and return to action in Plant City Stadium on July 13 to host the Charleston Battery at 7:30 p.m. ET.
