Wichita Falls Wildcats News Release
WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Wildcats forward Will Vosejpka has been named the North American Hockey League's South Division Star of the Week in the Easton Divisional Stars of the Week, it was announced Monday.
Vosejpka posted at least one point in all three Wildcats games last week, totaling four goals and four assists throughout the week. The Midland, Mich.-native recorded a season-high four points against the Lone Star Brahmas on Wednesday, before notching a four-point (two goals, two assists) weekend against the Odessa Jackalopes.
The second-year forward is now on a season-best four-game point streak, during which he has scored five goals and assisted on four others for nine total points. Additionally, with the offensive outburst, the future-Air Force Academy Falcon has surpassed his point totals for the 2012-13 season.
The award is the second of the year for Vosejpka. He previously earned Star of the Week honors for the week ending Dec.1, 2013, after a five-point week against the Brahmas and Corpus Christi IceRays. It is the fifth weekly award for the Wildcats during the 2013-14 campaign, with Jordan Jancze, Chase Munroe and David Zevnik previously earning top weekly honors.
The Wildcats return to the ice on Feb. 14 when they host the Topeka Roadrunners for the first matchup of a two-game weekend set. Video streaming will be available on FASTHockey.com, with an audio-only broadcast accessible via the Wildcats' UStream channel. Fans can also follow the Wildcats on Twitter (@WFWildcats) for score updates.
