Victor Mateo promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett

PEARL, MS -- Mississippi Braves RHP Victor Mateo has been promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett from Double-A Mississippi. In corresponding moves, RHP Jorge Reyes has been activated off the disabled list.

Mateo, 25, was 6-6 with a 2.68 ERA in 19 games (18 starts) for the M-Braves this season. He posted his best numbers in June, making five starts that month with a 3-2 record and a 1.67 ERA. Mateo spent the last two seasons at Double-A Montgomery in the Rays system. In 2013, he went 7-9 with a 3.93 ERA while posting a record of 12-11 with a 3.90 ERA in 28 starts for the Biscuits last year. Mateo was signed by the Braves as a free agent on November 13, 2014.

Reyes, 27, had been on the DL since July 20. He is 6-5 with two saves and a 2.81 ERA in 20 outings for the M-Braves this season. The Southern League All-Star posted his best numbers in April with a 1.29 ERA in five relief appearances and followed that with a 1.42 ERA in seven May outings. Reyes is holding right-handed hitters to a .211 average this season. A free agent signee by the Braves on June 3, 2014, Reyes was originally selected by the Padres in the 17th round of the 2009 draft out of Oregon State.

The Mississippi roster has 25 active players, 2 disabled, 1 ML Rehab and 1 suspended.
