As members of the BC Lions cleaned out their lockers, plenty of opinions were shared on why 2017 didn't live up to expectations. A couple of key veterans pointed to different moments of the season.
"I could potentially be ready as early as June. It could be longer than that."
Many observers point to Travis Lulay's knee injury in September as the turning point of 2017. The veteran quarterback is still approaching this offseason as a chance to get healthy and potentially return for an eighth season in orange. If it doesn't happen, what type of role could he fill for 2018?

"It was a year of optimism that turned into a year of disappointment."
GM/head coach Wally Buono held court with the media on locker clean out day. Buono confirmed Owner David Braley is going to continue to run the team through 2018. The CFL all-time wins leader also admits he is conflicted on whether to sign a new contract himself.

It was another record-breaking year for Solomon Elimimian, while Bryan Burnham proved to be one of the league's top playmakers and kicker Ty Long emerged as the club's most pleasant surprise. All three were named to the CFL West Division All-Star team this week.
"I would love to finish my career in BC. I love the community."
One of the biggest offseason priorities for Buono will be getting pending free agent Emmanuel Arceneaux signed. Number 84 says his goal is to finish his career with the Lions, but insists changes must be made in order to improve.
"Everybody had high hopes. A lot of things just didn't go well."
Elimimian gives his two cents on the season and claims it came down to three or four plays in a couple of key games. The West Division All-Star says it's the players, not Buono and his staff, that deserve most of the blame.
