Amarillo Venom News Release
Amarillo, TX 06/26/2012 Amarillo Venom will be traveling to Abilene this weekend to take on the Ruff Riders. Before the teams take the field they will join together to give some local Abilene kids the experience of a life time.
The two teams will meet at the Audrey Grace House, operated by New Horizons, a non-profit organization in Abilene that works with children who have suffered abuse and neglect before the game on Saturday. These kids will get to spend time with the teams and also experience eating with the two teams for their pregame meal at 2:00 p.m. Owner and General Manager Stephanie Tucker stated, "We are excited about the experience and can't wait to give back to a fellow LSFL community."
The day will being at the Audrey Grace House at 1:00 p.m. The players will sign autographs, and play games with the kids before heading out to their pregame meal. Scott Anderson, spokesman for the Abilene Ruff Riders commented, "This is probably a first for our league or any other, having the two teams come together for a common goal of helping children on the day of the game, much less sitting at the same table eating a pre-game meal together."
The Venom wants to send a special thanks to the Ruff Riders for including us in this experience, and we hope that we can someday return the favor.
