New Jersey Ironmen News Release
Newark, N.J. (Thursday, September 18, 2008) - Fan favorite Goran Vasic will head out to the Jackson Justice Complex this Saturday, representing the Ironmen at a special benefit game for the Kids with Cancer Foundation. Presented by the Jackson Soccer Club, Vasic will be on hand for the 7:00 p.m. kickoff when the Jackson Soccer Club coaches host the Jackson Police and Fire Department on the pitch.
"I'm delighted to come support this event," Vasic commented. "(My wife) Stacey lost her brother to cancer ten years ago, so this is something that really hits home for me. Anything that I can do to promote awareness, I am more than happy to do."
Admission to the event is free for kids, and adults are admitted for a $5 donation. In addition to the charity match-up, live entertainment, food and beverages will be supplied for those in attendance. For kids under the age of 15-years-old, there will also be a dribble/pass/juggling/shooting accuracy contest. Prizes will be awarded to individual age group winners, divided into U8/U9, U10/U11, U12/U13 and U14/15. Joining Vasic for the event will be United States Soccer Hall of Fame inductee Tab Ramos.
