
Usl SoccerFest Featured on 'Breakaway'

TAMPA, Fla. - The final episode of "USL Breakaway" of 2010 makes its debut at 6 p.m. ET Friday on Fox Soccer Channel. As the year comes to an end, the show comes straight from United Soccer Leagues' SoccerFest. A 30-minute magazine show highlighting the teams and personalities throughout United Soccer Leagues, "USL Breakaway" is in its fifth consecutive season on Fox Soccer Channel.
In the episode, which will re-air on New Year's Eve, host Jon Billings takes viewers around USL SoccerFest's two main attractions, the Annual General Meeting and Hall of Fame Dinner and the Super Y-League North American Finals. The 2010 Hall of Fame class saw the induction of Betsey McAdams, a key figure in the history of USL PRO's Charleston Battery, Bob Lilley, current coach of USL PRO's Rochester Rhinos and one of the most successful coaches in USL history, and Doug Miller, who was a three-time All-League selection and key player in the Rochester Rhinos' 1999 U.S. Open Cup triumph.
Also featured in the episode is Cleveland Internationals Girls U14 player Emily Ogle, a member of the U.S. Girls Under-14 program, and the Boys U17 Showcase game from the North American Finals between Tampa Bay Premier and the Maine Premier Soccer Bulldogs
Finally the program looks at the role the Super Y-League plays in USL's pyramid of development, including an interview with USL National Technical Director and former US Soccer Federation staff coach Peter Mellor.
