
USL Discipline Report: Week 19

TAMPA, Fla. - The following is the USL's discipline report for Week 19 of the 2016 season:
Eleven players, a head coach and two assistant coaches have been both suspended and fined an undisclosed amount for their actions this past week, and two other fines have been issued in separate incidents.
Louisville City FC assistant coach Daniel Byrd has been issued a three-game suspension - one for his ejection during City's 2-1 loss to Orlando City B on Saturday and an additional two games issued by the USL Disciplinary Committee for defamatory comments regarding the officiating and league through social media. Louisville Head Coach James O'Connor and the City FC organization have also been issued an undisclosed fine for comments during Saturday's post-game press conference.
Toronto FC II's Wesley Charpie has been suspended for three games for making contact with an official during Toronto's victory against Bethlehem Steel FC on Sunday - one game for the sending off and an additional two from the USL Disciplinary Committee for the encroachment with the official. Charpie will miss games against Orlando City B (Saturday), the Harrisburg City Islanders (Aug. 14) and New York Red Bulls II (Aug. 24). TFCII Head Coach Jason Bent also was sent off during the match and will serve a one-game suspension this Saturday.
Bethlehem Head Coach Brendan Burke has also been issued an undisclosed fine for comments toward the officiating during a broadcasted halftime interview of the club's loss to Toronto. Steel assistant coach Stephen Hogan was sent off during the match for abusive language and was fined and will serve a one-game suspension Sunday against the Charlotte Independence.
Wilmington Hammerheads FC's Qudus Lawal is suspended for two games following his sending off during the team's loss to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Saturday. Lawal intentionally stepped on a player's hand after committing a foul and was immediately sent off for his second-half actions. Lawal is out for the Hammerheads' matches against the Rochester Rhinos (Saturday) and Charlotte (Aug. 20).
The following nine players received their fifth cautions of the season and are serving one-game suspensions this week for yellow card accumulation: Louisville's Guy Abend (out Friday against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds), Pittsburgh's Sergio Campbell (out Friday against Louisville), FC Cincinnati's Harrison Delbridge (served Wednesday against FC Montreal), Sacramento Republic FC's Derek Foran (served Tuesday against OKC Energy FC), Orange County Blues FC's Brenton Griffiths (out Thursday against Tulsa Roughnecks FC), Tulsa Roughnecks FC's Henri (out Thursday against Orange County), the Harrisburg City Islanders' James Thomas (served Tuesday against the New York Red Bulls II) and the LA Galaxy II's Jaime Villarreal and Jose Villarreal (out Saturday against the Portland Timbers 2).
A total of 35 players have been issued four yellow cards this season (through Week 19) and are one away from being fined and suspended for accumulation (breakdown by team):
