USL announces week 20 honors

TAMPA, FL – United Soccer Leagues announced Tuesday the A-League Team of the Week for Week 20 of the season, honoring Vancouver's Jason Jordan as the Player of the Week. Gabriel Montenegro and Melina Triantos were honored as the Super Y-League Players of the Week.

Going into the weekend, the Vancouver Whitecaps were one of four teams vying for three playoff berths in the Western Conference and forward Jason Jordan propelled his club into the postseason with a goal and three assists in a 4-0 win over Milwaukee.

Jordan found Martin Nash in the 35th minute for a 1-0 halftime lead and a minute into the second stanza connected with Carlo Corazzin to make it 2-0. He scored in the 60th to put the game out of reach and capped the night by setting up Kevin Harmse in the 90th.

Jordan has now scored in his last three games against Milwaukee. He finished with seven goals and seven assists to lead the Whitecaps in regular season scoring for the fourth straight year.

Gabriel Montenegro tallied a hat-trick to lead his U16 Ajax Orlando side to a 4-3 overtime victory over the Countryside Lightning. The U17 De Anza SC girls picked up their first win of the year with Melina Triantos scoring the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over the Cal Cougars.
