USL Announces Week 19 Team of the Week

TAMPA, FL - United Soccer Leagues announced Tuesday the Week 19 Team of the Week for the USL First Division, honoring Minnesota's Aaron Paye as the Player of the Week.
With the team's second-leading scorer Melvin Tarley on his way to Major League Soccer's Real Salt Lake, fellow Liberian international Aaron Paye filled in quite nicely with a pair of goals in a 2-0 win over the visiting Richmond Kickers.
In the 48th minute, Jeff Matteo played the ball to Paye inside of the 18-yard box. Paye turned and scored on a perfect shot that sailed to the lower left corner.
Three minutes later Jay Alberts played a ball in the air that got behind the Richmond defense from the right side of the field. Paye ran onto the ball for a breakaway and shot past Richmond keeper Ronnie Pascale to give the Thunder a 2-0 lead.
Paye, who went scoreless in three appearances last season, has six goals and two assists in 922 minutes this season. He has played, primarily as a reserve, in 24 of the Thunder's 25 regular season games. He also scored twice in their 6-4 overtime win over Real Salt Lake in the US Open Cup.
