TAMPA, FL – United Soccer Leagues announced Tuesday the Week 18 Teams of the Week for the A-League and Pro Soccer League, honoring Virginia Beach's Dante Washington and Pittsburgh's Gary DePalma as the Players of the Week. U14 players Leopoldo Morales (Mustang SC) and Nicola D'Errico (Boston Renegades) were honored as the Super Y-League Players of the Week.

The Virginia Beach Mariners picked up a key victory in the race for the playoffs by adding to Atlanta's slump with a 3-1 win over the sliding Silverbacks. Forward Dante Washington played a part in all three tallies for the Mariners.

Washington opened the scoring in the 18th minute on an assist from Jakob Fenger and set up Hamisi Amani-Dove two minutes later to give Virginia Beach a 2-0 lead. The Silverbacks pulled within one on a goal from Leslie Fitzpatrick before Washington put the game away with a second tally in the 84th.

Washington is the league leader in points (36) with Portland's Alan Gordon (35) and Byron Alvarez (32) right on his heels. He trails Gordon by two in the goals table with 15.

The Pittsburgh Riverhounds wrapped the season up with a showdown against the Charlotte Eagles for the best record in the league and came away 3-2 winners courtesy of midfielder Gary DePalma.

DePalma set up David Flavius for the opening tally in the 23rd minute of the back-and-forth affair that saw Charlotte equalize twice on a pair of Patrick Daka goals for a 2-2 halftime scoreline. DePalma notched the lone goal of the second half and game-winner in the 73rd minute to give the Riverhounds the best record in the league at 17-2-1.

Leopoldo Morales scored twice to lead the U14 Mustang SC to a 4-3 overtime victory over Cavitt Academy. Nicola D'Errico played a part in all three scores for the U14 Boston Renegades in a 3-2 win over the Rhode Island Stingrays with two goals and an assist.
