USHL Issues Disciplinary Action

Chicago, IL - The United States Hockey League today announced disciplinary action as a result of incidents occurring on Saturday, October 13th in the game between the Green Bay Gamblers and Cedar Rapids RoughRiders.
Green Bay Gamblers defenseman Ben Gallacher has been suspended ten (10) games pursuant to USA Hockey Officials Rules, Rule 603 (Attempt to Injure/Deliberate Injury of Opponents), subsection (a), and Rule 410 (Supplementary Discipline), subsection (a). The ruling was based upon two cross-checks delivered to a Cedar Rapids player at 3:14 of the third period.
Green Bay Gamblers forward Seth Blair has been suspended three (3) games pursuant to Rule 613 (Fighting), subsection (c), and Rule 601 (Misconduct), subsection (d1). The ruling was based upon an altercation occurring at 19:01 of the second period and subsequent actions of the player following the altercation.
Green Bay Gamblers forward Sheldon Dries has been suspended three (3) games pursuant to Rule 613, subsection (d), and Rule 601, subsection (e2). The ruling was based upon an altercation at the 18:06 mark of the second period.
Green Bay Gamblers forward Ryan Siroky has been suspended one game (1) game under Rule 613, subsection (c). The ruling was based upon an altercation at the 20:00 mark of the second period.
The Green Bay Gamblers were also issued fines under rule 613, subsection (a) based on the failure of three players - Kyle Novak, Jordan Gross, and Gustav Olofsson - to report to the bench during an altercation.
Cedar Rapids RoughRiders forward Davey Middleton has been suspended three (3) games pursuant to Rule 613, subsection (d), and Rule 601, subsection (e2). The ruling was based upon an altercation at the 18:06 mark of the second period.
The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders were also issued fines under rule 613, subsection (a) based on the failure of three players - Landon Smith, Scott Moldenhauer, and Dylan Steman - to report to the bench during an altercation.
All suspensions begin immediately and are subject to appeal from USHL Member Clubs.
"When we launched the USHL player safety initiate at the beginning of this season, we stressed the need to sanction unsportsmanlike, dangerous and unsafe play. Today's decisions by the League's Disciplinary Committee reinforce that mandate," said USHL President and Commissioner Skip Prince. "We remain committed to presenting the finest quality of hockey available at this age anywhere in the world, while at the same time focusing on the health and safety of our players."
