MILFORD, CT – The United States Basketball League, Inc. (USBL) handed down the most severe penalty in its 19-year history today, when it suspended St. Louis Skyhawks head coach Floyd Irons indefinitely for his conduct during the May 8th game against Cedar Rapids. Irons pulled his team off the floor with almost six minutes left to play in the 2nd quarter and forfeited the game to the River Raiders. More than 2,600 fans were in attendance at the game.

"This has never happened in the USBL, a team being taken off the court and forfeiting," stated USBL Director of Operations Ed Krinsky. "What Floyd Irons did was totally unprofessional and can not go unpunished. There was no justification for his actions."

The USBL is also considering additional sanctions against Irons and the Skyhawks organization regarding Floyd Irons actions of May 8th.
