June 25, 2006 - United States Basketball League (USBL) News Release


MILFORD, CT - (JUNE 24, 2006) The United States Basketball League (USBL) semifinals featured two great games with Nebraska and Dodge City advancing to the Cahmpionship game tomorrow afternoon (tip-off 3:00 PM CST). In the night's opening game, the Cranes of Nebraska ousted top-seeded Oklahoma 106-103. In the late game, Dodge City rallied in the 4th quarter to put away the Cagerz 100-94 and earn a second consecutive trip to the USBL Championship game.

Nebraska 106 Oklahoma 103 F

In just thier second USBL season, the Nebraska Cranes play for the USBL Championship tomorrow night after knocking off the top seeded Oklahoma Storm. The Cranes' Alex Sanders registered 28 points and 13 rebounds in 34 minutes of work. Elvin Mims and Lincoln Glass each added 22 points in the victory for the Cranes. Oklahoma's Joe Adkins scored 24 and Quannas White added 7 assists in the defeat.

Dodge City 100 Kansas 94 F

Dodge City fans are thinking repeat after the Legend won a hard fought battle against the Kansas Cagerz. Jeremee McGuire's 27 points led all scorers for the Legend. Keith Langford and Nate Johnson each scored 22 points in the losing cause for the Cagerz. Turnovers helped decide this game as the Legend committed only 5 while scoring 21 points off of the Cagerz total of 14.

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME - JUNE 25, 3:00 PM CST

Nebraska vs. Dodge City

The Cranes will enter Championship Sunday as the underdog. Nebraska will not only be facing the Legend in their own building, but they have only won one of the six contests against the Legend during the regular season. The Legend are trying to become only the third team in USBL history to repeat as league champions.
