Unbeaten Cincinnati, Wisconsin Clash in CIFL action

Everyone is in action Saturday in the CIFL. Wisconsin at Cincinnati; Marion and Chicago meet up again this week, this time at The Odeum in Villa Park, Illinois. Fort Wayne hosts Miami Valley.
It's a battle of unbeatens at Cincinnati Gardens as the Wolfpack (1-0) and Commandos (3-0) collide. The Commandos posted another impressive outing, a 55-27 win at Fort Wayne. The offense certainly was there for Cincinnati, but this time, the defense took advantage of six Firehawk turnovers to make light work of Fort Wayne. Wisconsin outlasted Miami Valley 38-32 with Eric Donoval scoring three touchdowns.
Robbie Wilson had two of those interceptions to earn defensive player of the week honors. Commando's teammate Travis Johnson nailed all five of his extra point attempts for special teams player of the week honors.
Marion (1-1) and Chicago (0-1) square off for the second straight week. It's the first game at home game for the Cardinals. The Cardinals stayed close for the first half, before Marion scored the game's final 40 points in a 60-20 win.
For Chicago, Ron Ricciardi completed 13-of-33 passes, including four interceptions for 134 yards and two touchdowns. Marion was led by Josh Davis, this week's offensive player of the week, Davis was 12-of-21 for 148 yards and five touchdowns.
Miami Valley (0-2) and Fort Wayne (0-1) look for their first wins of the season. The Firehawks expected to have new faces at quarterback after losing their starter early and stumbling to a loss to Cincinnati. Expect a much improved effort against the Silverbacks. The Silverbacks gave Wisconsin a challenge before losing steam late.
