May 23, 2012 - Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) News Release
FT. MYERS, FL - The UIFL is pleased to announce the weekly honors for the week ending May 21, 2012.
For the seventh time in eight weeks, Florida kicker Ross Gornall earns the Trophy Awards Special Teams Player of the Week. In the victory over Rome, he converted seven extra points with an UNO.
After leading his team to a victory, quarterback Boo Jackson threw for 189 yards, six touchdowns and zero interceptions. It was in stark contrast to his first start against the Commandos in which he had five interceptions. For his performance, Jackson is named the Conquest Cards Offensive Player of the Week.
Eastern Kentucky defensive lineman Larry Ford was dominant against Lakeland with five sacks as the Drillers took sole possession of second place in the UIFL's South division. Ford, who was recently acquired from Florida, is named the All-Star PR Cincinnati Defensive Player of the Week.
