UIF Week Three Review

Omaha, NE - Week three of the United Indoor Football season has come and gone. Three games were played this weekend. The Rage beat the Beef, the Extreme defeated the Wild and the Outlaws handed the Bandits their first loss.

RIVERCITY 36, OMAHA 18

At St. Charles, MO

The RiverCity Rage beat the Omaha Beef 36-18 Saturday evening at The Family Arena. RiverCity was led by QB Anthony Fisher and their defense. Fisher had 183 yards of total offense (40 rushing and 143 passing) and scored four total touchdowns (one rushing and three passing). The Rage's defense was led by Joe Bevis who made a team-high 14 tackles (one TFL) and had a quarterback hurry. The defense also tallied four sacks, an interception and six pass break ups. The Beef were led by DL Colin Bryant and QB James McNear. Bryant led the defense with 8.5 tackles (2.5 TFL) and a sack. On offense, McNear threw for 65 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 19 yards and another score. The Rage have a bye this weekend before making a return trip to Omaha on April 5th while the Beef will welcome Sioux Falls to the Omaha Civic Auditorium on Saturday evening.

BLOOMINGTON 59, WICHITA 38

At Bloomington, IL

The Bloomington Extreme earned their first win of the season, defeating the Wichita Wild 59-38 Saturday evening at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum. Bloomington was led by QB Dusty Burk and their defense in the victory. Burk had 288 yards of total offense (55 rushing and 233 passing) and five total touchdowns (one rushing and four passing). The Extreme's defense tallied five sacks, forced two fumbles (recovered one, returning it 49 yards for a touchdown), intercepted two passes (returned one 21 yards for a touchdown) and also broke up nine passes. Wichita was led by QB Tyler Schuerman and DB Orlandus Williams. Schuerman had 193 yards of total offense (12 rushing and 181 passing) and had a hand in four touchdowns (rushing for one and passing for three). Williams made 6.5 tackles, recovered a fumble and returned it 40 yards for a touchdown and also intercepted a pass. The Extreme complete a two-game homestand by facing the Colorado Ice Friday evening while the Wild will have a bye before facing the Extreme again, this time at home on April 5th.

BILLINGS 72, SIOUX CITY 38

At Billings, MT

The Billings Outlaws defeated the Sioux City Bandits 72-38 Saturday evening at Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark. Billings was led by QB Chris Dixon and DB Travonti Johnson. Dixon completed 19 of 26 passes, throwing for 264 yards and six touchdowns. Johnson contributed 3.5 tackles, three interceptions (returned one 39 yards for a touchdown) and also broke up three passes. The Bandits were led by QB Chad Kapanui and LB Spetlar Tonga. Kapanui completed 26 of 40 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns; he also rushed for 11 yards. Tonga made 4.5 tackles (two TFL) and ½ a sack. He also blocked an extra point and also had a pass break up. The two teams will meet again this Friday evening at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City.
