UIF Fan Launches Football Photography Website
Published on April 17, 2007 under United Indoor Football Association (UIF) News Release
Omaha, NE - A United Indoor Football fan has launched a website for all fans of photography and football. Tom Slattery of Sioux Falls, SD, wants photographs from all levels on football, pee wee to the NFL and everything in between. He's encouraging people to post their football photographs on his website, www.localfootballfan.com. "It's relatively easy," he says.
"I'm a huge football fan," Slattery says. His interest in photography has grown from hobby to "semi-professional" over the past couple of years, thanks to some photo equipment gifts from his wife. He enjoys the combination of football and photography. "I love to capture the action."
Slattery's first football photography web venture was www.ultimatestormfan.com. The site allowed a variety of Sioux Falls Storm fans to post their pictures. When Slattery started shooting other football events in the area, such as Augustana College, the University of South Dakota and state high school football championship games, he was putting them all on the Ultimate Storm Fan site. He decided to expand on the idea and came up with the Local Football Fan site which includes a UIF photo gallery.
Fans don't need to be shy in submitting their football photos. Slattery has enough web space available to hold, as he said, "millions" of pictures. He says contributors will be able to determine whether or not they want to sell the pictures they post. Eventually, Slattery would like to make money selling ad space on the site. "That's the furthest thing from my mind right now." For him, "It's all about the people being able to see them."
