UFL to Offer Webstream

September 29, 2011 - United Football League (UFL 1) News Release

JACKSONVILLE, FL - Thursday, September 29, 2011 - During the 2011 season, United Football League games broadcast through regional sports networks are also available to football fans on their mobile devices, thanks to Veetle.

As a result of the partnership, the UFL web stream, powered by Veetle and sponsored by ConAgra Foods, is broadcast in high-definition quality on the Internet and on mobile devices such as the iPhone, iPad and Android phones. The Veetle Video Platform is available on www.ufl-football.com and there is a fully customized UFL video landing page on the Veetle.com website.

The Veetle-powered streaming of games, sponsored by ConAgra Foods, kicked off on the opening weekend of the new UFL season and resumes for Saturday's key Week 3 game at Hornet Stadium between the Sacramento Mountain Lions (0-1) vs. Omaha Nighthawks (0-1). Football fans can catch all the action brought to them by Sacramento sportscasters Grant Napear and Mike Lamb in the Comcast SportsNet California booth with former NFL coach Jerry Glanville. Streams will not be available within the markets of UFL regional sports network partners due to blackout restrictions.

"The way in which people watch sports is evolving rapidly, and we believe it is essential for the UFL to be at the forefront of technology that offers web streaming and alternatives to traditional viewing platforms," said UFL Commissioner Michael Huyghue.

"The Veetle-powered UFL web stream ensures we reach fans of the sport and our league, whether watching on a computer or a mobile device, and we are excited to partner with Veetle to provide such a great service."

Tomas Llibre, UFL Vice President of Information Technology, added: "Veetle approached us with their technology offering, and we saw an opportunity to create a win-win for both companies by combining UFL IT experience in the live-streaming space with their well thought-out consumer video platform.

"Every time you look for a partner, you must identify the factors that define everyone's skin in the game to ensure true commitment to successfully deliver a professional product. Veetle's flexibility incorporating our demands and commitment to our brand is a testament to their drive for success."

Ethan Wang, Veetle's head of product development, said: "The partnership gives the UFL the chance to reach out to the growing online audience, and it gives Veetle the chance to demonstrate why we are one of the leaders in quality live-streaming. People are always looking for the best-possible-quality broadcasts on the Internet and Veetle, in particular, is known to have the best quality and fastest response time amongst all live-streaming sites.

"I hope there will be more games from the UFL in the future demonstrating users' demand for live online content. There is no question this will help form additional partnerships for similar content in the future." About Veetle: Veetle is a venture-backed digital media company based in Silicon Valley. Started by a team of top-notch engineers who were former graduate students from Stanford University, Veetle provides the next generation live broadcasting platform that can deliver extremely cost-effective streams at a massive scale with unprecedented quality.
