UFL Announces Venue Changes

Published on October 22, 2009 under United Football League (UFL 1) News Release

JACKSONVILLE, FL (October 22, 2009) - The United Football League announced an additional venue and a venue change as the UFL has completed two weeks of games. The November 4th game at Citi Field featuring the New York Sentinels vs. the Las Vegas Locos has been moved to Hofstra's James M, Shuart Stadium. The November 14th game at AT&T Park featuring the California Redwoods vs. Las Vegas Locos has been moved to San Jose State University's Spartan Stadium. The November 19th game between the California Redwoods vs. Florida Tuskers remains at AT&T Park.

"The UFL has gotten off to a fantastic start with high-quality, affordable football action, talented players hungry for the opportunity to compete, innovative television broadcasts and a tremendous overall game-day experience for the fans," said Commissioner Michael Huyghue. "With the completion of four games, we thought this was a good time to evaluate our strategies and make adjustments where necessary. While Citi Field is a phenomenal facility and we look forward to playing a game there in the future, we feel Hofstra is a better fit for us right now as a football facility. Hofstra University has been receptive to handling logistics with us, including allowing our teams to practice there during game week.

Huyghue added, "Spartan Stadium has always been in our plans to use as a secondary venue to AT&T Park during baseball season. By moving one of our games from AT&T Park to San Jose State, we are able to get a feel for Spartan Stadium in preparation for next year while broadening our Redwoods fan base."

Fans who purchased tickets for the November 4th game at Citi Field and the November 14th game at AT&T Park can obtain a full refund at the original point of purchase.

Tickets for the UFL's November 4th game at Hofstra's James M. Shuart Stadium and for the November 14th game at San Jose State University's Spartan Stadium can purchased at www.ufl-football.com or at 877-UFL-2009.
