Two Elimination Games on Tap for Friday Night
April 4, 2008 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release
There is a full slate of four games on tap tonight in the Ray Miron President's Cup playoffs with two of those games potentially being the final one for a pair of teams. In Youngstown, the SteelHounds prolonged their season last night with an impressive 5-2 win over the Colorado Eagles. Ryan Bennett scored a pair of goals and Kevin Beech saw his first action in net replacing all-star Andy Franck who struggled in the first three games of the series. Should the Hounds win game five tonight at the Chevrolet Centre they would force the series back to Colorado for game six in the Budweiser Events Center on Tuesday, April 8th.
Also tonight, the Odessa Jackalopes face elimination at home in game four of their series with the Laredo Bucks. Laredo leads the series 3-0 and are looking to sweep away the Jacks and earn extra rest awaiting the winner of the Arizona-New Mexico series. The Bucks have outscored the Jacks 16-7 in the series thus far. Should Odessa prevail tonight, game five will be on Saturday night in Odessa.
Catch the all the action from all four games on the docket tonight via the CHL Network. Visit www.centralhockeyleague.com for more information.

URQUHART LOOKS TO CONTINUE FUELING SUNDOGS The Arizona Sundogs pick-up of Cory Urquhart in late February just may turn out to be the biggest acquisition in the entire CHL. During the regular season, Urquhart scored 20 goals in just 13 games including scoring a goal in each of the last 10 games tying the season-high for most consecutive games with a goal (Rocky Mountain's Daymen Rycroft also had a 10-game streak). Urquhart, assigned by the Phoenix Coyotes on February 20th, was named the Sher-Wood CHL Player of the Month for March for his outstanding goal scoring streak. In the playoffs, Urquhart leads all players with 11 points and six goals. He has scored a pair of goals in each game thus far of the Arizona series with New Mexico (Sundogs lead series 2-1). Teammate Alex Leavitt is tied for third with seven points (1-6=7), he led the league with 128 points during the regular season.
