Twenty-One Northwoods League Players Featured on 2016 All-Big Ten Teams

Rochester, Minn. - The Northwoods League is proud to announce that 21 current and former players have been named to All-Big Ten teams following the 2016 season. One-half of the top two All-Big Ten Teams are alumni of the Northwoods League. Out of 39 total selections last season 25 of them were NWL players. Those 25 contributed heavily to the five Big 10 teams that made the NCAA tournament after never previously having more than three teams from the Big 10 in the tournament.
Former Rochester Honker, Matt Fiedler from Minnesota, was named the Big Ten Player of the Year. Fiedler spent the 2015 season with the Honkers. In 2015, Fiedler hit .354 with eight home runs and 37 RBI. Former Waterloo Buck, Cody Sedlock from Illinois, was named the Pitcher of the Year. Sedlock pitched for the Bucks during the 2014 season and was 5-3 with a 3.27 ERA.
