Tryout Weekend Coming Soon For Male And Female Hopefuls

The Fort Wayne Freedom, a first-year member of the Continental Indoor Football League owned and operated by Fort Wayne Sports Partners, will be holding tryouts for both the football team and the inaugural "First Ladies" Dance Team during the first weekend in December.

Locals who wish to give it a shot at playing for the Freedom in 2008 can show their skills on Saturday, December 1, at the Fort Wayne Golf Dome, located at 5702 Engle Road in Fort Wayne. All participants will be charged a $50 tryout registration fee and are encouraged to pre-register by visiting the team website www.fwfreedom.com. The schedule for all positions is on the site, as lineman and fullbacks players will be working out in the first session, followed by skilled players and quarterbacks.

"We already know there is some talent right here in Fort Wayne, as evidence by some of our early player signings", stated Freedom head coach "Touchdown" Eddie Brown. "The tryout at the Dome is going to allow those guys who are local that maybe just don't have the resume or representation to get a contract offer to come show what they can do. I have signed players right form open tryouts before, so it could very easily happen again on December 1st".

The next day, the team is holding the first-ever tryouts for the "First Ladies" Dance Team. The tryout will be conducted at K.Monique's Studio of Dance, located inside the Jorgensen YMCA on the southwest side of Fort Wayne. First year dance team coordinator and choreographer, Kristin Pagan, is looking for local ladies, 21 and older, who enjoy performing hip hop and jazz dance routines in front of thousands of fans during the Freedom home games and at public appearances. Registration begins at 8:00 am and each candidate is required to pay a $25 registration fee.

"We are very excited to be bringing the "First Ladies" to the city of Fort Wayne", General Manager Mike McCaffrey said. "They will be great ambassadors for our organization both at our home games and in the community".
