Wichita Falls Wildcats News Release
The Wildcats went into Santa Fe looking to build on their last victory over the Roadrunners on October 29th, but found out that the home team had other plans. After allowing the Roadrunners to score the first two goals of the game, the Wildcats came storming back with four straight goals to lead 4-2 midway through the second period. That's when the momentum shifted and the Roadrunners took control, scoring seven unanswered goals to eventually win the game 9-4. Chris Ochoa had two goals, while Kyle Pidde and Kyle Kraemer rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats. One positive for the Wildcats was the return of Captain Kyle Kraemer to the line up after missing seven games with a shoulder injury. Kraemer seems to have retained his form, scoring once and adding two assists in the loss. Back-up goaltender Dan Ramirez (2-4) played the entire game for the Wildcats, facing 40 shots on goal in his sixth start of the season. The Wildcats went 1 for 8 on the power play, while the Roadrunners were 3 for 7 on the night. This brings the Wildcats record to 10-6 on the season, presently in second place in the South Division.
The Wildcats will have a chance to regroup over the next seven days since they have a rare off weekend with no games scheduled. Next up will be the Springfield Jr. Blues, who visit the friendly confines of the Kay Yeager Coliseum for the final time this season. The teams will face off on Friday, November 11 and Saturday, November 12 at 7pm. Friday is Police and Fire Fighters Appreciation Night when members of the WFPD are taking on members of the WFFD in a Broom Ball match during the first intermission. Saturday is Wildcats Player Poster Night; the first 500 fans will receive a poster featuring Kyle Kraemer, Nicholas Ghidina, Peter Zamkochyan, and Tom Billick. Call the Wildcats office for tickets at 716-5587.
