Tucson Toros News Release

Long Beach, CA-The Tucson Toros defeated the Long Beach Armada by a score of 6-3 Friday in what was the team's last game of the first half of the GBL's split season. Tucson will start with a clean slate and high hopes heading into the second half after a strong finish, winning five of their last six.

Tucson starting pitcher Jason Jacome limited the Armada to two runs in five innings of work to earn his second win of the year and the Toros bullpen continued their recent dominance. Four relievers combined to allow just one hit in the final four innings of the game, tallying 7 strikeouts. Reid Price continued to shine in the closers role, striking out a batter in a perfect ninth inning for his fourth save.

Leadoff hitter Skip Adams had three hits, including a double, two runs scored and an RBI. First Baseman Dustin Yount also had three hits and had a run scored and RBI of his own. Leftfielder Curt Miaso doubled twice while Catcher Dylan Parzyk went deep for the second time this season.

The Toros and Armada will match up once again Saturday in the third game of the four game series. A linked feed of the Long Beach broadcast will be available at www.tucsontoros.com.
