The Texas Tornado unveiled their 2011-2012 Robertson Cup championship banner last Saturday before their home opener against the Wichita Falls Wildcats. The crowd of 2,706 saw the banner revealed before the game and went home happy on the heels of a 4-1 Tornado victory. The team travels to play Corpus Christi on Thursday and Friday, but return home for a stretch of three home games in seven days. Read on for more... After taking home the Combat Hockey/NAHL Showcase crown in Blaine, Minn., the Tornado picked up right where they left off with a 4-1 victory over the Wichita Falls Wildcats on Saturday. The Wildcats opened the scoring with a first period goal by Will Vosjepka. Leo Lumm scored a power-play goal later in the first to tie the score before Scott Conway, C.J. Reuschlein, and Brandon Hawkins broke it open with markers of their own in the second. Hunter Leisner was in goal for the Tornado and made 16 of 17 stops en route to his fourth victory of the season.

Upcoming Games and Promotions After road games in Corpus Christi on Thursday and Friday, the Tornado return home to take on Wichita Falls on Sunday, October 7th with a special matinee start time of 5:00 p.m. The Topeka Roadrunners will come to town for games on Thursday, October 11th and Saturday, October 13th. Both of those games are scheduled for 7:30 p.m., but make sure you get to Dr Pepper Arena on Saturday for Rally Towel Night!
