Karl Sellan Honored Again as NAHL Player of the Week

With seven points on the road in Alaska, Texas forward #28 Karl Sellan has captured the Sher-wood NAHL Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending November 6. Although the Montreal native was shut out along with every player on the ice during regulation play and overtime of Texas 1-0 shootout loss to Wasilla on November 3, Sellan did convert his shootout attempt, which the Spirit won by 3-2. But Sellan, who last season led the NAHL in goals, more than made up for it the following night, as he started the scoring against Fairbanks with a goal less than a minute and a half after the opening faceoff. With the score 2-1 in favor of Texas later in the period, Sellan added a second goal. The Tornado would tack on two more tallies and Sellan assisted on each of those, giving him a four point night in a 5-1 victory. The Ice Dogs got their revenge on Saturday, with a 4-1 win, but Sellan attempted to rally Texas when he scored their lone goal in the third. Back in Wasilla on Sunday, Sellan drew an assist on a go-ahead goal by Tom Train midway through the game and added another assist on the final Texas goal in a 6-3 win. This is Sellan's second Player of the Week selection of the season.
